Limerick Food Trails

It's been all go in food trail land, with people from here and outside of town joining me on Saturday culinary mystery tours and plenty of talking happening about the trails, I'm delighted to announce further dates in the diary.
November 23rd, November 30th, December 7th and December 14th
This is how a food trail goes:
10am meet up at the Cornstore @Home, 41 Thomas Street for coffees and the beginning of our tasting trail, trail end 1pm-2pm, depending on how pressed people are for time
Then it's onwards to various and varied food stops, a butchers shop, many market stalls in the Milk Market, full of tastings and demonstrations, maybe a little snifter of a drink and plenty of introductions to the producers of the finest of local and artsian food in the region. You will eat to your tummys' content and have plenty of fun on the way.
We leave the market and take a walk and a little historical talk to our final destination, which changes every time but always ends up somewhere indoors and somewhere delicious.
If you love food and love spending time doing something different, whether you're new to town, a visitor or someone who just wants to try new things, this food trail is for you.

On Yer Bike For CARI

Last year the Devastator Burger Challenge saw hungry competitors race against the clock to devour 24oz burgers for charity. This year the Absolute Hotel has devised a healthier way to raise money for CARI and the Children’s Ark Unit at the hospital - but there will be just as much huffing and puffing!
Staff at the Absolute are raising money by clocking mileage on the hotel’s two exercise bikes.  Every evening Monday 16th  to the Friday 20th  between 5.30pm and 6.30pm two members of staff will cycle their hearts out in order to raise money for Limerick's Live 95FM 95 Stop-Tour For Limerick Kids
There will be an internal competition between the boys and the girls to see who can cycle the furthest.  Whatever the verdict is at the end of the night – the Absolute will make a contribution per mile.

So pop in and donate generously.

Discover our hotel in Limerick city, on the site of a Francisan monastery now home to our exquisite boutique hotel offering stylish rooms, great dining, Spa and much more.  Steeped in history the medieval area once was downtown Limerick where the “corrupted corporation” held sway for generations and Limerick was ruled by a few powerful families.  Now of course all has changed and you can take yourself on a leisurely walk along leafy George’s Quay, past the current city council and the famous Hunt Museum into the hustle and bustle of Limerick’s shopping district.
Our hotel in the old Treaty city has the great King John’s Castle on its doorstep, where its proud medieval past competes for your attention with Thomond Park and the artisan produce found at the atmospheric Milk Market.
Enjoy a cocktail or a pint of the black stuff in the bar at the Absolute hotel, dinner in the ABG and go dance the night away in one of Limericks many cool nightclubs-most of which are a short distance away.
