Style in the city: How to keep it chic at your big city wedding by Lilac Rose Bridal

Image
Brides are often swayed by their choice of venue when it comes to choosing their wedding dress and we often find those who opt for a city based wedding prefer a simple, refined look when it comes to their dress - but still want to look like a bride on their big day. There are plenty of ways to create a standout sophisticated look without compromising on the bridal style stakes.              Fabric comes first. What is often missed in catalogue photos of wedding gowns is the fabric. Cameras can’t capture the way sophisticated fabrics move when walking up the aisle, sitting down, shimmying on the dancefloor et cetera, so don’t shy away from simpler gowns as sometimes it’s all about the fabric, the fit and those expert dance moves.              Accessorise with care. The right accessories can make a dress, but they can also break it. Stick to one or two statement pieces that will bring the look together rather than overwhelming you, for example a simple lariat neckla

Absolute Hotel on a sunny day

Antonia is a Spanish student in Limerick Institute of Technology.  On placement for 6 months with the Absolute Hotel she was first challenged in the sales & marketing department to create a video that would best portray the Absolute Hotel.  Creating a video was something she had never done prior but she rose to the challenge.   Taking it with determination and many hours of research regarding lighting, composition, music and edition, a plan was created.  She decided to take shots that say a lot with just one image, and added rhythm and animation.  She gathered inspiration from other videos, suggestions from the marketing team, used her own creativity and of course the beauty of the hotel and limerick city on a sunny day.

Absolute’s Hotel Limerick 5 essential BBQ tips

Image
Preheat properly  If you’re going to get a good crust on your food and that BBQ flavour, you need your BBQ to be hot before you start cooking. Don’t poke  BBQ's take time. Only turn steaks or burgers once or twice. And definitely don’t squash everything down as this forces the juices to run out and leaves the meat dry. Sausages are also best left alone – piercing the skins dries them out. Remember food hygiene  Even though BBQ's are out doors and the hunter gatherer instinct will keep in remember to keep it clean. Do not mix raw and cooked food, check temperature of your food and make sure to wash your hands. Give it a rest  Let cooked meat rest on a clean plate, cover with foil, for about 10 minutes before carving so juices can redistribute evenly. Leave the BBQ to us..  We would be more than happy to look after the BBQ for you CLICK HERE for packages

Complimentary bike seat covers in the Absolute Hotel!

Image
To celebrate the launch of the Coca‑Cola Zero Bikes   in Limerick the Absolute Hotel would like to help with the inevitable occurrence of the wet “ass”.  With thanks to the Absolute Hotel no longer will you have to use the plastic shopping bag or wet your sleeve when hopping on and off the Coca Cola bikes.  They are offering complimentary bike seat covers to all those who drop into the hotel for a coffee. Close walking proximity to the Coca Cola Island Road terminal means guest and employees alike can opt for a healthier mode of transport whether visiting the hotel for work or leisure.  The idea of the bike seat covers came to light when the General Manager Donnacha Hurley was using the bike to get up town for a meeting.  Of course with the changeable Irish weather the seat cover was wet and that was when the Eureka moment occurred.  “We are excited and delighted to see such a positive scheme come to Limerick. The Coca Cola Zero bikes have been such a great success story in
