Ireland recently celebrated the first anniversary of The Civil Partnership Act, now one year on and over a thousand ceremonies later, Limerick City is to host the first ever Gay Wedding/Civil Partnership Show in Ireland . The Absolute Hotel and Spa Limerick will be the first venue to host what promises to be a spectacular event organised by GayWeddingsIreland.ie and Enchanted Occasions on February 26th from 2-6pm . This free event will provide advice on every aspect of Civil Ceremonies/Gay Weddings, from the etiquette in the Registry Office to the decor of the function rooms and everything in between. Civil air about hotel weddings FEBRUARY is upon on us, spring is in the air and Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, so thoughts are turning inevitably to romance. And in the spirit of inclusiveness newly enshrined in Irish law, one city hotel is positioning itself as the ideal location for civil partnership ceremonies as well as traditional white weddings. Since the Civil Partnership Act was passed in December, the Commencement Orders means same-sex couples will be able to apply to the Civil Registrar to enter into a civil partnership. The Absolute Hotel was granted a licence to hold civil ceremonies last year and Wedding Co-ordinator JoAnne Hickey is keen to exploit this new angle in the nuptials market.
