This year the Absolute Hotel’s annual Father’s Day competition posed the question ‘Who is the coolest Dad in Town?’ The response was overwhelming with many heart-warming and funny stories in the mix. However, a gem was unearthed with Limerick man Pat Aherne. Pat was nominated by his daughter Roisin Aherne. Roisin depicted a man who she described as ‘one in a million’ and not ‘your typical Irish Dad’. An everyday routine of getting ready for school, doing his daughters hair, baking, cooking, gardening and offering fashion advice was all taken in his stride. Roisin’s final words were, ‘He's worked so hard all his life and is still working so I think he deserves some TLC’, and the team at the Absolute Hotel Limerick agreed. Limerick’s Absolute Hotel wins best value accolade at national hospitality awards! THE team at Limerick’s Absolute Hotel was celebrating this Monday after winning in its category at the National Hospitality Awards in Dublin. The city establishment won Best Value Hotel at the industry awards which were held in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel. The Absolute’s general manager Donnacha Hurley said, “We’re really proud of winning this award, because value for money is all about exceeding expectations. “This award endorses the focus we have on providing an amazing experience for our guests with a really friendly team delivering great service at a great price.” The Absolute’s marketing manager Michelle Normoyle was on hand at the renowned Dublin venue to accept the award. All the Team at The Absolute Hotel Limerick are very happy! WHY?....  We have just learnt we have been shortlisted as a finalist in this years Gold Medal awards.  We have been shortlisted for 'Ireland's City Hotel' . This year saw a record number of entries and the competition was fierce. After months of site inspections and judging throughout the country, the finalist have now been selected.  Not only have we been selected for  'Ireland's City Hotel',  we are also nominated for the people's choice award of 'Ireland's Favourite Place to Stay'.
