Limerick May bank holiday weekend – Riverfest 2016

This year Limerick will come alive over the May bank holiday weekend.  From the 29th April – 2nd May 2016 there are many events planned across the city.
Friday 29th April historically kicks off with a soap box derby, where daring teams race there homemade creations.
Saturday 30th April will see the city host Ireland’s largest BBQ cook-off where foodies can try some of the best BBQ absolutely free.  There is a Continental fair of European artisan producers that will tantalize the taste buds.  All of these events are set in the famous Milk market and the Absolute Hotel Limerick is one of the closest hotels to the epicentre of these activity.  That nigh King Johns castle will rock with the Coronas playing a live gig.  The closest Hotel to the venue, the Absolute Hotel is the ideal location for dinner before, a drink after or a place to stay.
Sunday 1st May will see thousands of runners take to Limerick city streets to race in the Barrington’s Hospital Great Limerick Run.  10km, half marathon or the full marathon runners will push themselves to complete this major task.  Located next to Barrington’s Hospital the Absolute Hotel Limerick will see runners pass its door step as they make their way to the canal bank part of the run.  Close to all the major night clubs and pubs all the tired legs will deserve a drink and craic after the race.
